Captain Archer was the commanding officer of the Starship Enterprise NX-01, United Earth's first fully-fledged starship, from 2151 until 2161.

The Enterprise NX-01 was the first NX-class starship launched by the United Earth Starfleet in 2151, establishing it as a legitimate power and causing a wholesale revolution in Alpha and Beta Quadrant politics, paving the way for the creation of the Coalition of Planets in 2155, and eventually the United Federation of Planets in 2161.

Star Trek Reverse Design

The Captain Archer coin's reverse portrays a colour image of Scott Bakula as Captain Jonathan Archer as he appeared in Star Trek: Enterprise, against a representation of the Enterprise NX-01 and the inscription CAPTAIN JONATHAN ARCHER. The design also includes The Perth Mint's traditional 'P' mintmark, and the coin's weight and fineness.

The Enterprise coin's reverse portrays a colour image of the Enterprise NX-01 flying over planets, as it appeared in the television series Star Trek: Enterprise. The design includes the inscription STAR TREK ENTERPRISE ENTERPRISE NX-01, The Perth Mint's traditional 'P' mintmark, and the coin's weight and fineness.

Tuvalu Legal Tender

The coins are issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu and feature the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2015 year-date on their obverses.

Issue limit

The Perth Mint will release no more than 1,500 of the 2015 Star Trek: Enterprise - Captain Jonathan Archer & Enterprise NX-01 1oz Silver Proof Two-Coin Set.
