SKINBREAKER (2025) #2 CVR A DAVID FINCH & ANNALISA LEONI

Kirkman never wants to publish my letters, so I’m going to leave what I sent him as a review here:

Wowee, I'm impressed! Indisputably immaculate canvases revealing crunches of valuable information indicates David could have fired Robert and still sold this instant hit. On the other hand, "easy makes you weak" proved such a tough line that I practically had to reassess my life decisions all within a four word sentence, so although the dialogue is short and minimal, as well as finding it humourous that all the characters have four letter names, it's not void of depth. Speaking of depth, the sense of space in the catacombs provided by the reliefs allows the audience to perceive the tangible environment, something I think many books neglect. And Annalisa's colours make me think of autumn foliage, which in my opinion is in tune with the tribe's association with nature as we've seen so far. Admittedly, the character designs are lacking identifiable characteristics; I had to reread the first issue after I thought Thul was the one who challenged Enor. But that's a minor complaint—not everything needs to spoon-feed.
