“The Heir of Frankenstein” is a 2023 Team Fantomen story, written and drawn by Joan Boix. Joan is a Spanish artist who has been providing stunning artwork to accompany Egmont stories for a few decades now. Most notable is that Joan Boix was also the artist who drew the more than 350-page-long story “The Heart of Darkness” with script by Claes Reimerthi, published under the header Phantom Legends and spanning 50 episodes, from 1994 to 1996 and 2009. To describe him as anything other than as a remarkable and extremely gifted artist would be a gross understatement. At the back of this comic is “Hunters’ Prey” part 2 by Queensland artist and writer Shane Foley, which is another superb locally grown Phantom story created by a man who really knows his Phantom of old!
